My name is Jan Snyder. I started out in photography by taking pictures of homeless people in San Francisco several years ago. I really love street shots and trying to capture the subject's emotions in that split second. I want to tell a story through their eyes and my lens. I describe my style as photo journalistic - that means, I capture the moments as they occur without staging them. I believe this captures the purest emotion a person is feeling at that time. My photography is an artistic outlet, a life documentation tool & a way to find the fun in the life that surrounds me!
I have been involved with sports for a long time. Martial Arts, Cycling, Softball, Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, Football, Youth Sports and Co-Ed Sports are part of the resume! JP Images will be attending Sporting Events in the South Bay, East Bay and Central Valley throughout the year. Please let me know if you need a photographer for your special event.

I shoot with the Sony a900 Full Frame digital camera (24.6 megapixel resolution) and the Sony a700 (12.24 megapixel CMOS sensor). I utilize the 16mm fisheye lens all the way up to a 300mm lens. I have a portable studio for portrait sittings complete with lights, backdrops and reflectors!
